One knowledge source = one document, one PDF, or one URL. One message = one question plus one response. Test messages from the dashboard do not count toward your limit.

What counts as a message

One message is one question sent to your agent plus one response back. If a user sends 5 messages in a single conversation, that counts as 5 messages toward your monthly limit. Messages you send yourself while testing in the dashboard do not count.

What happens when you reach a limit

  • Agent limit reached: create a new agent is disabled. Archive an unused Agent to free up a slot.
  • Knowledge source limit: adding new sources is disabled. Delete outdated sources to free space.
  • Daily training limit reached: the Train button is disabled until the daily reset.
  • Message limit reached: your agent stops responding to new conversations for the rest of the billing month. You’ll receive an email warning at 80% of your limit so you can upgrade before hitting the cap.

On an Agent page, the Knowledge Sources card shows a usage popover with knowledge source count, monthly messages, and daily training runs.

Locked and disabled states

When a limit is reached, Agenvik disables the relevant action and shows a tooltip explaining the reason.

Upgrading and downgrading

Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged prorated for the remainder of the month. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. Within 7 days of upgrading to a paid plan, email hello@agenvik.com for a full refund, no questions asked.
